About the Anjappar - Urid Flour Unroasted:

Urad flour is a type of flour made from ground urad dal, which are black lentils or black gram beans. Unroasted urad flour is made from urad dal that has not undergone any roasting process before milling.

Texture and Color: Unroasted urad flour typically has a fine texture and is off-white or cream in color. It is finer than coarse-ground urad dal but coarser than refined urad flour.

Culinary Uses: Unroasted urad flour is commonly used in Indian cooking, particularly in South Indian cuisine. It is a versatile ingredient that is used to make a variety of dishes, including dosa (a type of fermented crepe), idli (steamed rice cakes), vada (savory fritters), and pakora (fritters). It can also be used as a thickening agent in soups, stews, and curries.

Nutritional Benefits: Urad dal is a good source of protein, dietary fiber, and essential nutrients such as iron, magnesium, and potassium. Unroasted urad flour retains many of these nutritional benefits, making it a nutritious addition to your diet.

Gluten-Free: Like other lentil and pulse flours, unroasted urad flour is naturally gluten-free, making it suitable for individuals with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities.

Storage: Unroasted urad flour should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to maintain its freshness and prevent it from becoming rancid. It has a long shelf life if stored properly.
